Whether you’re creating a beautiful special edition or simply want to add an elevated touch to your book, I’m here to illuminate your manuscript! Have an idea that isn’t mentioned here? Reach out and let’s discuss!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • My commercial licensing contract provides you with the right to reproduce, distribute, and otherwise utilize your commissioned artwork for financial gain or in a commercial context. This includes but is not limited to: merch, Kickstarter/preorder incentives, and interior book printing.

  • Yes! You may post your commissioned artwork to social media. You are also free to make prints of the artwork for yourself or for friends/family without purchasing the commercial rights.

  • I can draw most anything that you request! While I specialize in humanoid and fantasy characters, I’m also happy to draw landscape/scenery art, as well as pets and animal/creature characters.

I do NOT draw sexually explicit / NSFW art of any kind. This includes drawing art of characters from books which contain “smut/spicy” content, even if the artwork itself is PG.

If you aren’t sure about something, just ask!

  • You can give me as much information as you’d like! For character art commissions, I would love to receive at least a few of the following:

    • Character description, including: physical attributes and coloring, clothing style, and any important accessories or bodily markings

    • A brief description of the character’s personality and who they are within the story

    • Your preferred pose, expression, and/or emotional feel of the piece

    • Your ideas for the background, if any, and overall composition

    • Any reference images you have (this can include Pinterest photos, actor face claims, or existing art)

For Book Cover Illustrations specifically, you MUST send me:

    • The dimensions for the cover, including trim size and bleed. This may be an estimate, and I will keep that in mind so it can be adjusted later if needed. Many book print-on-demand services offer cover templates based on your book specifications, so if you can send those to me, all the better!

Of course, you only have to provide as much as you feel is relevant to the commissioned artwork. If I feel something is missing, I will ask!

  • If you are unable to book ahead for a certain month or don’t have a specific timeline for your commission, you can sign up to the waitlist. If spare slots open up at any point, I will contact waitlisters first and give them priority. Pease note that larger commissions like book covers should ideally be booked ahead, as I can only take a few at a time.

  • Turnaround time can vary based on the specifics of your project and the number of revisions. Generally, however, standard character illustrations take 3-4 weeks after payment is approved. Larger illustrations can take 4-6 weeks. Book covers typically take 4-8 weeks, and should be booked at least 2-4 months before you need them.

If you need the artwork by a specific deadline, please let me know and I am happy to accommodate! Rush fees may apply if the deadline falls before the standard turnaround time.

  • Payment is completed in two installments: a 50% non-refundable deposit is required upfront before I begin on a sketch, and the remaining 50% is paid after I send the final preview of the completed artwork, after which I will deliver the full-quality files.

Payment can be done through a Zelle bank transfer, or via a PayPal invoice. The PayPal invoice can be paid with your preferred method, though, so no need to have a PayPal account!

  • Please be aware that the 50% deposit is non-refundable, except in the case that you have to cancel before the artwork has progressed past the sketch phase, in which a partial refund may be available.

If you need to cancel the commission for any reason after I have started coloring, I cannot offer a refund and you will need to pay 50% of the remaining price.

If you cancel the commission when the artwork is in its final stages and almost complete, I unfortunately cannot offer a refund and I will ask that you pay the remaining balance.

Be aware that if you cancel a commercial-use commission, you revoke all rights to the commissioned images, including any and all progress images I have sent you.

In the extremely unlikely event that I cannot complete your commission and have to cancel, a full refund will be supplied, including the upfront deposit.
